Ive also been praying about what I should do with my life, After mission  right now i think my plan is go to paramedic school, go to army ranger school, (maybe green beret school  If i can pass it...) and a wilderness survival medicine school. And the expert field medic course. Plus Air assault school and airborne school (repelling from helicopters and jump from planes) and other specialty schools.  Im already almost a Jr in college towards a nursing degree, so ill get that quick and then start working on a a (minor or major) in film making and cinematography.    I don't think ill stay in the army for more then 4 or 6 more years, and after the army I want to ether apply to be a smoke jumper,(Fire fighter who parachutes into forest fires) or full time search and rescue. (If I can find one)
and the all of this will be qualifying and giving me experiences to pitch the Idea of a Urban and wilderness survival series on a net work (Like the discovery channel, Military channel ect..)
what you think?   Or am I still dreaming to big?

Mission is still going amazing,  and im loving every day of it.   I don't know why I talked about what I want to do after mission today,  It was just what is on my mind today.   I got some good advice on what kind of thing to wright home in my letters, so ill start doing that next week.  I love you and miss you all

This week was good. I truly hope you all are getting my emails. because every time I open up my inbox they have been sent back to me.

Today we traveled to bush-rod Island to play football (soccer) with the rest of the zone, and when we finished we were just hanging out eating some rice, when Elder Elsworth stood up and announced his companion had just turned 6 months on mission yesterday... His companion is Elder Essel... My MTC companion!   I was like " Your not 6 months yet, that's still forever away.
we started the same time"
well... family turns out he really is 6 months and I am too... my 6 month mark was passed and gone and I didn't even know it.    Wow.... I cant believe how fast time is going.

I'm so excited, next week we have a baptism, and its James (the blind man) family, after we taught him and he was baptized we started teaching his family. and on Saturday he will be the one to baptize his wife and his oldest son.  he has been working on memorizing the prayer and his family is more then ready.    It is a little difficult because of his lack of eye sight, so what is happening is one of us (missionary's) will have to be in the water with him to help him submerge his family and to make sure they go all the way under the water.

And this last week we baptized a boy named Jerry, his father traveled from the Interior (his Village in the country) and was able to come watch his sons baptism, It was also Jerry's first time to see his father in 6 months.  so it was an amazing baptisim.  the smalest ive been to on mission, It was Elder Priddis and I, The zone leaders and Jerry and his dad. so total was 4 missionary 1 baptizing 1 watching,   and even tho it was so small i would have to say it truly was  one of the most spirit filled moments I have had on mission so far.

Well that's this week.

Alright well this week went pretty well.   I hope you all got last weeks email. when I opened up my in box I had notices telling me that my Email did not send.  so I sent it again today.

All has gone well this week,  on Saturday we held a baptismal service,  it went really well, one of the people baptized is named Josephus, he is the younger brother to Larry (the one I baptized Christmas day, the baptism that my baptizing cloth tore open during) well that didn't happen again but something kinda close to that did happen tho,  as Josephus was walking into the font he stumbled  and well he fell into the water... and when he came up his suit was no longer buttoned together...  and Africans dont seem to be big fans of under clothing...  he came up embarrassed but laughing,  all was in good humor, but its needless to say we took a min to re-invite the spirit and continued with the baptism. the rest went smoothly and it was a spirit filled meeting.
also last week I would said I would take notes of things that have happened so I could have a story to tell you guys.  I was really surprised how used Ive become to living in Africa.  This week nothing really big happened  but I did end up with a tarantula inside my Mosquito-Net. I have no idea how he got inside of my net... all I know is how I got him out of my net. haha  I was just Laying in bed and I looked up and saw this spider about the size of the palm of my hand just hanging out above my head.  so I call Elder Priddis over to come see this beast that is hanging over my head, and Him being a "good old Wyoming boy" did the same thing I would have done...  He shook my Mosquito-Net.  I jumped out of my bed so fast. My companions reply was "dont worry that guy (Spider) isn't going any ware" he was still in the same spot on the net.  So I walked to another get a peice of paper to deal with this monster, and upon my renter the spider was gone... I asked Elder Priddis what had happened, his answer was "Oh... well it fell on your pillow"   This Death Spider was peacefully resting  on my pillow, the same pillow I was peacefully resting on 30 seconds before.    I would like you to know that spider is now resting in peace (RIP)   and my Bed is once again bug free.
I was talking to my companion after and we realized that even seeing a spider that big back home would have been a big deal let alone having one in your Bed.  Its amazing how you get used to the little things.
Im Sorry no really spirit story this week,  the week was full of meetings no real proselyting time. maybe next week I love you and will see you later

Alright ill send a real Email to every one this week.

This week went well, we had a fireside with Elder Dickson and he spoke to us Missionary's at zone conference yesterday.  (that's how come I'm Emailing today).  That man defiantly is called of God,  every time he was talking I was taking notes as fast as I could. In short you could sum up all he said into 3 words "keep the Commandments".   Also, another speaker talked about, smiling as God gives us our challenges, because in the end we know they are for our own good.   On our way to the fireside Me and Elder Priddis got a little lost. The fireside was held on Bushrod island and well I've only been once before with a group of missionary's,  Elder Priddis had not been there yet,   on our way to Bushrod island we kinda passed the church, and well we kept going.... haha don't worry we got turned around into the right direction eventually.
Also This Elder Priddis and I helped organize the branch missionary's and give them all people to teach, that was alot of fun.  During the meeting we played games and had some scripture challenges, and got every one organized into companionship's. I really think we helped them get excited about missionary work.
Ive been thinking and realizing that its getting harder for me to find stories to tell you guys, not because nothing crazy is happening, but because I'm used to all the crazy stuff. haha  I'm getting desensitized to Africa.
This week Im going to take notes so I can be sure to have at least one good story to tell.
I love and miss you all love Elder Taylor

January 24, 2011

This week went by to fast and to quick... but it was good.    Elder Priddis and I have been running into and finding some very prepared people.  We have been striving not to just have the spirit with us as we teach but even just as we walk and converse with one another.
This week was full of preparing and getting ready for events and next week the church is having an open house,  and the President of Liberia is coming to view the Church.  Also Elder Dickson of the 70 is coming and holding a fireside. and he will be interviewing all the missionary's, I'm pretty nervous... Ive never even been in the same room as a general authority,  Heck... i didn't even know what a general authority was till 3 month on mission.  Now I'm getting interviewed by one.
The high light of this week was two things,
1. JBS a branch missionary got his mission call, he has been called to serve in Nigeria.  This guy will be a great missionary, he is very dedicated to the lord and he will be a future church leader in Liberia I bet.
2. Also we have a priest named Budu who came out with us twice this week.  This kid goes to seminary every day, wants to come out with us as often as he can.  I love teaching with him.  He was excited when we got him interviewed so he could go on exchanges with us.

I miss every one and I hope all is well at home,  once again my time is short I'm sorry:(   I still have to travel in to the city and still get back by our curfew.
Thanks for the emails  I love you and miss you all and i promise someday ill send you back a good reply :)                    Love Elder Taylor
